Apple Danish

Ingredients

3 c flour½ tsp. Salt1 cup shortening½ cup Milk1 Egg Yolk (beaten)6 cups peeled, sliced Apples 1 ½ cup Sugar2 Tbsp. Flour1 tsp. Cinnamon½ cup Butter or Margarine1 Egg White1 ½ c powdered sugar⅛ tsp. Salt1 tsp. Vanilla2-3 tbsp. milk

Use first 5 ingredients to make crust.Split in half and roll out one half to a rectangle shape. Place on cookie sheet.Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Place apples on crust.Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter.Cover with top crust (shaped into rectangle from second half of crust).Brush with egg white.Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter.Bake for 45 minutes.In a separate bowl mix together ingredients for glaze.Cool and glaze.
