Apple Danish

Ingredients

  • 3 c flour
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg Yolk (beaten)
  • 6 cups peeled, sliced Apples 1 ½ cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • ½ cup Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 ½ c powdered sugar
  • ⅛ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk

Directions

  • Use first 5 ingredients to make crust.
  • Split in half and roll out one half to a rectangle shape. Place on cookie sheet.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Place apples on crust.
  • Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter.
  • Cover with top crust (shaped into rectangle from second half of crust).
  • Brush with egg white.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl mix together ingredients for glaze.
  • Cool and glaze.
