Sour Cream Meat Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup Lean Hamburger
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Mushrooms
  • 1 large Onion ( finely chopped)
  • 3 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 ½ cup Sour Cream
  • 1 ½ tsp. Salt
  • ¼ tsp. Pepper
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • ½ cup Shortening
  • 1 Egg (separated)

Directions

  • Saute hamburger, mushrooms and onion in butter until meat is browned.
  • Remove from heat. Drain.
  • Stir in ½ cup sour cream, ½ tsp salt and pepper.
  • Mix flour, remaining salt and sugar in a bowl. Cut in shortening.
  • Mix eggyolk and remaining sour cream.
  • Add to flour mixture. Mix well.
  • Roll out on a floured surface.
  • Cut into circles with sour cream carton.
  • Place 1 heaping teaspoon filling in the middle of each circle of pastry. Fold over. Seal edges.
  • Mix egg white with 1 Tbsp. water. Brush over pies.
  • Place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
