Stuffed Green Peppers

6 large Green Bell:Peppers5 cups Boiling (salted) WaterI lb. Ground Beef2 Tbsp. Chopped Onion1 tsp. Salt1/8 tsp. Garlic Salt1 cup Cooked Rice1 can (15 oz.) Tomato Sauce

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Cut a thin slice from the stem end of each pepper. Remove all seeds and membranes. Wash inside and outside thoroughly.Cook peppers in boiling (salted) water for 5 minutes, drain.Cook and stir ground beef and onion in a medium skillet until onions are tender. Drain off fat.Stir in salt, garlic salt, rice and 1 cup of the tomato sauce. Heat through.Lightly stuff each pepper with ½ cup meat mixture.Stand the peppers upright in an ungreased baking dish (8x8x2).Pour remaining tomato sauce over peppers.Cover and bake 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
